Which with the B-36, at least in the early years, was an absolute necessity. The Wasp Major was a hell of an engine for the day, but it was also a maintenance hog. Each engine had a 100 gal oil tank that usually had to be refilled inflight, at least when the carburetors weren't frozen over or the engine spontaneously combusted. Yes, the Jumo 004B wasn't the most reliable engine in the world, but if it misfired, you didn't have to clean or replace 56 individual spark plugs.
