Someone else mentioned it, but I thought I’d post it up. Who’s playing FFXIV and what datacenter/server? If you wish to give character names, add that too. I’ve got Taelena Laensward on Midgardsormr. -- Geoff Depew - Darth Mephron Haberdasher to Androids, Dark Lord of Sith Tech Support. "And Remember! Google is your Friend!!" |

>It was a fun time until then, though. I liked the setting and a lot >of the little visual details. I haven't made a habit of playing MMOs, >so I don't know how it measures up as an MMO, but it was >definitely a good Final Fantasy game, if that makes sense? That's pretty much how the community at large sees it, it's a Final Fantasy game first, an MMO second, especially once you hit the first expansion's content (a lot of the very early stuff is pretty cliche MMO, right down to almost literal 'kill 10 rats' starter questing.) Also if you're a long time Final Fantasy player there's nostalgia and Easter Eggs around seemingly every corner.

Nadia West @ Adamantoise (NA datacenter), white mage for hire (other duties as assigned). There's several of us who play who also check in here. We're all end-game equipped and one of us raids on the regular, though the rest are a bit more casual about it. As I've mentioned elsewhere, I did check with the group and anyone who wants a guided tour at any level range, we'd be more than happy to hitch you to the XP train and take you along. As for grindy... I mean, I can see it, but I used to play World of Warcraft so by comparison FFXIV is lightyears better (IMO YMMV etc). The more recent patches have, I think, really made the early and mid game experience much *less* grindy and better overall -- for example, it's entirely possible now to progress at a satisfactory rate doing only the main story quests, whereas before you pretty much *had* to step aside and grind a bit to keep your levels up to the entry requirements for the MSQs. And now that cross-world parties are easy-peasy... :D --sofaspud --#healerDPSmatters |

>Pretty sure you need to be in the same subsection of the region (i.e. >Adamantoise is in Aether, while Lamia where I'm at is in Primal) to do >cross-world parties. My search for a tame healer continues. I didn't think this was correct, because their site explicitly says "The World Visit System allows you to travel freely between the Worlds in your data center", and the top of their server status page says "North American Data Center", implying (to me at least) that everything under it is, y'know, in the NA datacenter. Which apparently it is, but digging deeper I'm forced to come to the conclusion that you may be right, that each of the sub-data-center whatever-they-are's is considered a Data Center too. I'll have to test when I get home tonight and see where all I can go. Arrgh. --sofaspud -- |

My search for a tame healer continues. A Data Center is one collection of Worlds (servers). So, the Primal Data Center contains Exodus, the server my two mains are on. I could cross-world with anyone else on the Primal Data Center, but not anyone on Crystal. My third alt is very new and is on Coeurl world, on Crystal Data Center. Anyway, between my two mains on Exodus I'm happy to help anyone level, run dungeons or raids, whatever PvE content people want. I don't really do extreme content without unsync (ie, running it at max level, higher than the content was designed for), but I've done just about every dungeon and raid in normal mode, in any role. I have Elhn Kitsune and Qalia Borlaaq on Exodus, and Aenra Kaljian on Coeurl. I think BZArcher is also on Exodus? Anyone else on Primal is also welcome, if we want to get together and do something. =)

Okay: For the Primal Data Center, I see myself, Astynax and BZArcher. I'll let everyone else on Aether organize themselves, but for the three of us on Primal (and anyone else who happens to be around!) if we want to get together we should set a time and date. Sena Hikari - Adamantoise Bunny Samurai that just hit 80 the other day. I'm almost done with MSQ stuff and am looking forwards to some end game grinding. You can 100% go from level 1 to 80 doing just the MSQ as that is what I did. You end up doing your randoms for tomes anyway as it's a good way to gear up until 80. DaemeonX
