Just started listening to this. This is not nearly as bad an accent as it could be, considering that quarians already have a pseudo-accent so you don't have to imitate a real-world one consistently. When it's there, it sounds right and plausibly quarian. Better than I could do. I'll reserve judgment on the singing until I actually reach it. ... Oh goodness there are British accents in here too. It pleases me beyond measure that, not only is the BBC there in the future, but it gets radio service in the ass-end of unknown nowhere. And the singing is Irish-accented. I am amused, indeed. I was afraid it was going to be more quarian. now coming to a dank river valley near you |

LAST EDITED ON Mar-09-10 AT 03:43 PM (EST) >And the singing is Irish-accented.I tried singing it without the horrible Irish accent and it just... didn't work. I don't know if that's because that's the accent I first heard the song in, or if it just doesn't work without it in general, but I couldn't get it to work without it. Also, yes, you should see the size of the Galactic Service's hyperwave transmitter network. When they say "galactic" they really, really mean it. :) --G. -><- Benjamin D. LAST EDITED ON Mar-19-10 AT 03:22 PM (EDT) Road trip underway. First leg: Complete. I really liked the audio versions for Star-Crossed, Chief! The singing was awesome, I got quite a chuckle outta that. As were the accents...Especially Zaeed. "Cry me a godam river!", indeed. I liked the inclusion of the radio show's musical intro too. I only have two negative comments: One, that the files weren't CD friendly in length(Too long to double up, too short to fill a disc.), the other, that there isn't more of this!!
Thanks again, for puttin' in the time. Now, onward, to Pennsylvania! ---- Now Playing: High Contrast vs. F.S.O.L.-- Papua New Guinea(Single-DAONE001, 2003)"Phase Three..." < THIS SPACE FOR RENT > |

>I only have two negative comments: One, that the files weren't CD >friendly in length(Too long to double up, too short to fill a disc.), Hmm. I didn't even think of that. I used to break readings of the longer stories into 20-minute chunks, but that wasn't really for fitting-on-CD purposes either, it was just because I didn't want to be bothered wrangling larger files. For SC and Manhunt it seemed like the thing to do was go episode-by-episode (and even then I broke up MH06 because it's so much longer than the others). I never gave any particular thought to whether the resulting runtimes would fit onto media orthogonally. >the other, that there isn't more of this!! Did you have a chance to grab Manhunt before you left? --G. -><- Benjamin D. >Did you have a chance to grab Manhunt before you left? What? >Did you have a chance to grab Manhunt before you left? WHAT?! Howinthehell did I miss that? I do remember reading them, but somehow I didn't catch the part about there being audio! Übersw33t!! Now I've got something to roll with on my way BACK to Texas! >I only got it done Wednesday. Yep. I was already gone Wednesday. That's really cool though, all the same. Mississippi is *The* *Most* *Boring* state I've ever driven through. The first time, I left my digicam recording on the dashboard, just to prove I wasn't lying about the endless, ENDLESS TREES. Needless to say I'm really looking forward to the audio files. ---- Now Playing: Dethklok-- Duncan Hills Coffee Jingle(The Dethalbum Deluxe Edition, 2007) Do you guys like COFFEE?! < THIS SPACE FOR RENT > |

No doubt. After I-20 though, I had to go south on I-75 and I-16 to the coast. I-16 was probably built using Dr. Forrester's "Deep Hurting" philosophy. The Second and third legs are up I-95 to Pennsylvania, so that should be more interesting. Leg four is going back to Texas from the coast, so I'm glad the audio files for Manhunt are available. I may wait until I get to the hotel to grab the files, though...the rural DSL connection here at my folk's place is...thin. Verrah verrah thin. Mebbe even Wafar Thin. Like a dinner mint. ---- Now Playing: Seal-- State of Grace(Human Being, 1998) "These things forever change us..." Interestingly, the lyrics in this one seem fitting for the relationship in Star-Crossed. < THIS SPACE FOR RENT > |
