>"All Those Stars" itself was never intended to be anything but a >short, with no directly connected storyline leading to or following >it. > >However... > >The original version was written - well, that's not really accurate... >the original version blew my forehead off before Apotheosis >Now was more than generally plotted. At that time, I didn't know >yet that Asuka was going to pull the stunt she pulled in the Worcester >scene of the movie, and that as a result, she was essentially going to >end up with a new body; that was one of those serendipitous >developments that come along from time to time. > >The end result was, much to my dismay, that the original version of >"All Those Stars" contained pretty much the same events in pretty much >the same order... > >... except that "Would you look at all those stars?" were Asuka's >last words. > >As you might imagine, this was a rather traumatic creative experience. > I shoved the whole affair in the back of a drawer, so to speak, and >did my best to forget about it for some time. *blinks* Well, that particular bit of writing must have had much the same effect as DJ's arrival in front of that poor hotel clerk. I imagine it must've been one of those looking-at-the-text-and-wondering-where-the-hell-that-came-from moments. Good to see the NXE(and by extension, Eyrie in general) anti-Anno-ending field was in effect. |
