"Fight scene music of the day"

I encountered this song at random out in the world and found out what it was from Shazam, a bit of phone software that - unusually - does exactly what it says on the tin, inasmuch as it's friggin' magic.

I was startled to discover, at that point, that it's a track from an album that isn't even out yet. The sound is such a throwback to earlier, rockin'er times. Video's not bad, either. Their bassist looks a bit like a young Tony Butler, and he really, really gets into his job. :)

This song will appear in the background of some justified interpersonal violence in a future UF piece.

That's going to be fun. In my opinion, a version of this which stops at 1:20 would make a heck of an opening credits piece, but I can see it as fight scene music as well.

Y'know, it would. If time wasn't so linear, that cut would've made a great opening title theme for Neon Exodus Evangelion.

We are the left-behind
Lost on the roads you follow
We are the compromise
We've opened up our eyes
Fight the hand that feeds you lies
This time we make it right

Don't need a reason tonight
So sick of waiting for something to change my life

The soul lives for the feeding
Thick as thieves, we are the feeling
The soul lives for the feeding
Thick as thieves, we are the feeling

Changing to the second verse in the third season:

We'll never fall in line
And walk the roads you followed
We are the ones who rise
Just open up your eyes
Fight the hand that feeds you lies
It's time we make it right

Don't need a reason tonight
So sick of waiting for something to change my life

The soul lives for the feeding
Thick as thieves, we are the feeling
The soul lives for the feeding
Thick as thieves, we are the feeling

The footage built into the titles would've changed over time, as opening titles do, but there'd always have been a shot of Rei on the screen at "So sick of waiting for something to change my life."

Would especially be good as a 'champion team vs all' fight scene, IMHO.

“They planned their campaigns just as you might make a splendid piece of harness. It looks very well; and answers very well; until it gets broken; and then you are done for. Now I made my campaigns of ropes. If anything went wrong, I tied a knot; and went on.”

And so it shall, for sufficient values of "team" and "all". :)
