...Wow. I'd set aside a week just for reading, if I were you. =) Seriously, though, there IS a ton of new, awesome material. Since Symphony of the Sword was an ongoing thing when you left, I'd suggest maybe seeing what's the last story from there you remember? The What's New page doesn't go back that far (and can you imagine if it did? Yikes.) but it leads directly into the modern storyline. ------ Fearless creatures, we all learn to fight the Reaper Can't defeat Her, so instead I'll have to be Her

Oh yes, there's also jonathanlennox's "What Was New at EPU" page; I don't have a link to that handy, but perhaps he'll jump in. That might give you a steer. I should probably put a link to it on the actual What's New page, in fact, don't know why I've never thought of that before. It's nice that someone's bothering to archive the release dates, since I've never been arsed. :) --G. -><- Benjamin D. It's nice that someone's bothering to archive the >release dates, since I've never been arsed. :) It's at: http://www.cs.columbia.edu/~lennox/epu-old-news.html It's not that huge, by modern Web standards — 169K. It only covers stuff since the What's New page went live on eyrie-productions.com, though, so since late 1999. (I have another page tracking the release dates of EPU's first decade releases, mostly determined from their Usenet posting dates.) My usual caveat about "What Previously Was New" is that it's updated entirely manually, so isn't necessarily up to date at any given time (though it is right now). Also, I got distracted in the 2013-2014 time frame (getting married will do that to you), so I missed scraping any entries between 2013/09/10 and 2014/06/16. I'm pretty sure I reconstructed all the fiction released in that period, but I'm may be missing any art or audiobooks, as well as Gryphon's clever phrasing of the announcements. Any web caches or backups from that period would be welcome. |

LAST EDITED ON Jul-28-15 AT 10:48 PM (EDT) >I fell off checking around here in around 2012... and proceeded to >miss a LOT it seems. >So uh... where should I dive back into all the goodies around here >considering when I last checked the new hotness was the middle of the >Transformers stuff? Hmm. Well, you may want to start with the things that aren't directly connected to the sprawling military-industrial complex that is The Order of the Rose - Our Witches at War, for instance, and the one-shot Lensmen: The Brave and the Bold items "Night of the Kissogram!" and Weapon of Choice (the latter of which is from 2012, so you might've seen it, but I forget what time of year it was). As far as the "main arc", chronologically, you're probably going to want to start at the top of the Legacy of Korra index, run through what exists of Book 6, then jump over to The Order of the Rose (which was still called Symphony No. 5 when you were last here), read the DMS Panic! omnibus for context, then pick up the main series at First Dates and Firefights. From there, the branches and whatnot are (I think? I hope!) fairly well signposted. When in doubt, the chronological listing should sort you out. Note that the above is not the order in which the bits were released - most of the Legacy of Korra stuff is set before, but came out after, her first-in-real-time EPU appearance in OOTR: Try, Try Again, for instance - so if you want the somewhat more disjointed experience people who've been here the whole time got, well, see my other post, 'cause I can't help you there but I know someone who probably can. :) Also, as I've said a couple of times over the past couple of years, if you think that's complicated to read, imagine what it's like working on it. :) --G. -><- Benjamin D.
