After making a couple of these, I can say it tastes pretty good, but I would go with a different main alcohol than whiskey; bourbon is a pretty overpowering flavor, and the golden-brown color does mess with the overall color of the drink (full disclosure, mine didn't come out purple, only because my liquor store didn't have a properly purple raspberry liqueur). I used gin for my second round, which worked a lot better for me, the crispness of the gin offsetting the sweetness of the raspberry. The final recipe I arrived at was equal parts gin, raspberry liqueur, redbull*, and club soda.
*my store didn't have OG redbull so I used something different, but I doubt it makes a huge difference, considering the nature of energy drinks. The drink punches pretty good, but since I don't work for Nijisanji, I held to a reasonable ratio of alcohol to energy drink, and so I didn't get in trouble on that front. "This is probably a stupid question, but . . ." |
