Not having a Dreamcast to call my own, I'm not certain... but I do know that every character in the game is a Stand User. Those who at first glance appear not to be--Hol Horse, Chaka, and a couple of others--have small, non-humanoid Stands that in the game's context can't be directly attacked (and thus have no life bars and can't be "summoned", but are constantly present) but aren't much good on the defense: Hol's "Emperor", a phantom gun that fires guided bullets, and Chaka's "Anubis", a matter-animating Stand resident in an ancient sword. (And many of Hol's game moves involve calling on aid from his more conventional User partner J. Geil and his Hanged Man stand; the cowboy-wannabe is too much of a coward to go into a fight without powerful backup and a clear path of retreat.)

I seem to recall that game Stands have very short life bars that regenerate after a few seconds of downtime, creating windows of opportunity to attack the Users...
