>Good (?) thing this isn't Japan. She wouldn't have to wait. So I looked up what you meant here (for which I am now probably on some list or another :), and I have to say, if The Wikipedia is correct (the eternal question), that is one odd state of affairs (no pun intended):
"The Japanese Penal Code sets a minimal age of consent of 13. However, all prefectures and districts have (largely similar) 'obscenity ordinances' (淫行条例) that forbid 'fornication' (淫行) with anyone under 18 years of age, but exempt sex in the context of a sincere romantic relationship or with parental approval."
Well, Azalynn's got the latter sort of by default. I find myself doubting that Mr. and Mrs. Nakano would be so sanguine, but on the other hand, the one and only thing we know about them from the canon is that they're both jazz musicians, so who knows, they might be total bohemians.
The previous qualification on the list is interesting, and one is left wondering who is meant to assess that.
>That said, this IS Azalynn. Despite the inevitable stereotype, she

True, and in this case it's kind of a moot point, since that's not what Azalynn means by "cute" when she's talking about Azusa anyway. The thing about Azalynn is that sometimes - heck, a lot of the time - she really does just want to cuddle. :)
Interestingly enough, it is flatly established in the K-On! movie that the canonical Azusa is not even remotely interested in that sort of business. At one point (spoilers, I guess), she's so rattled by the (unfounded, as it happens) suspicion that Yui might be angling to take her Usual Skinship Thing to that level that she does actual violence to the poor girl, in one of the most startling scenes of the entire franchise. I think that might have been a reaction on the production team's part to the proliferation of fanart-to-the-contrary, some of which is frankly adorable.
(How true that is in UF is outside the scope of this document, but given that when we meet them in TFLF they've only known each other for a few weeks, it's not likely to be of great immediate significance anyway. So far, Azalynn has Yui mentally filed as "unawakened", which may or may not be a fair assessment.)
