Less flippantly, in practice the outfit in the original game didn't end up going by the M&S name for very long. Quite early in the campaign, they had to go underground like the A-Team and change both their own names and the name of the unit.

After which point, in a meta-nod to the original M&S coincidence and the assumption that the name would similarly be unknown in the 31st century, we called it "Sears, Roebuck & Company". :)
