LAST EDITED ON Jul-13-16 AT 07:16 PM (EDT) Oh yeah, I forgot to mention—Käfer is what the original Beetle was informally called in Germany, being as it's German for "beetle". It's not the German name of the current model (which is, as far as I can tell, just der Beetle), but—rather charmingly, IMO—you can buy a replacement for the decklid badge (which normally says "Turbo" or "TDI" or whatever) from VW's parts catalog that says "Käfer" or "Maggiolino" (which I assume is Italian) or a variety of other names by which the Beetle is known in various countries. I haven't done that, but who knows, one of these days I might.--G. -><- Benjamin D.
