Alas, the Saab. It developed some odd problems and I was persuaded to sell it while doing my undergrad stuff. Wish I hadn't, as is often the case with these things.

Could be, although in my case, Maine is a geographically large and thinly populated state, so the experience of the land is rather more Western-style than in, say, the eastern half of Massachusetts. Here where I live, for instance, we've long been accustomed to driving at least 75 miles (each way) to see a movie, attend a large hospital or medical specialist, or buy anything you can't get at Tractor Supply.
