When I first found EPU, lo these many moons ago, I lived in a tiny town of approx. 2500 newlyweds and nearly-deads, and while it had all the basics (grocery store, gas station, McDonalds) literally everything closed up at 5pm. Sometimes earlier if the proprietor wasn't feeling it that day. And everything interesting meant an hour drive to get to the Big City.
I now live in that Big City and it feels like I'm still. an hour away from everything interesting. :D I'm in the suburbs waaay at the north end (I can more or less throw a rock at the CITY LIMITS sign from my neighbor's backyard), the closest store of any kind is 3.4 miles away through a maze of twisty little suburban streets, all alike; and all my appointments, work, etc. are way the fuck at the other end of town because of course they are.
Mass transit? What's that? :P
