To be fair, that's a drawback that every {team/role-based multiplayer brawl game where the roles are specific characters} ever made has had. Team Fortress 2 is the obvious example—those guys are treated as unique characters in the supporting materials, but there are hordes of duplicates in any given game, and they're all the same on both sides—but the Return to Castle Wolfenstein multiplayer was the same way, and so on.
