(I missed the disbursement date this month by... uh... one day, which if I were a more cynical sort of man I would conclude was obviously on purpose. Not that it matters in the end, because they owe me from the date of disability.)

That's not the backdated part, or at least she didn't think it was. That will probably have to wait until another department figures out if I'm eligible for the supplemental security part. That way they're only paying out one lump sum. Maybe that was the only part they intended the 40–60-day thing to apply to. Shrug?

I think my attorneys got paid, though. Unsurprising.

Potentially less exciting, I got my Medicare card today too, but the people in the state government who can determine what that does to my Mainecare/SNAP eligibilities were too busy to talk to me today. So I get to wait until Monday to get up at the crack of dawn and call in to find out about that part.

Welp, I guess now that I'm officially retired, I might as well join AARP.
