Beyond that, distinctions are hard to draw; the 2040 version had a lot more screen time to work with (although I haven't actually seen most of the show yet, so I'm basing my version on just the first few episodes). I can't speak much to their differences in hacking style, since the computer stuff one actually saw on screen in the OVAs tended to have been... how shall I put this... designed by animators who had, I suspect, never actually seen anyone use a computer before except on TV. :)
