Much of Ben Stark's memetic heritage, as far as what he does for a living (albeit practically none of his actual characterization), comes from Transmetropolitan. That and my own experiences as a newspaperman, which are admittedly of peripheral relevance to the life of a 21st-century cyberjournalist.
