Post-apocalyptic with a good dose of space magic, and a common material in the game is essentially sci-fi 3D printer material at nearly replicator level of versatility. Spent brass isn't really an issue, even before you include the magic guns where headshots cause the bullet to return to the chamber... Which would have had interesting development issues during the design phase :)
