The main problem is that it doesn't really make sense without at least one other story to reference against.

Personally, I always assumed that the problem lay with trying to write a story while your avatar was on drugs.

It's a flash, a single incident in what was a much longer week. Personally, I thought the rest of it could be pretty easily glarked from context; it was very much an experiment (like several Exile stories), but given that it was written in 35 minutes, I thought it came out pretty well.

It did, at least to me.

Anyway, from certain data we know that Gryph passes out, target of a complex assasination attempt; on 27 Jan 2336 In new Gotham on Kanes world. In his last act of conciousness, he creates Vision, possibly Clueless' greatest creation. Vision then creates an alternate identity to shield him while he recovers; Bruce Wayne.

He is not seen again until 25 Dec 2344, enrolled in S.I.T.

What can we draw from this? Easy. From Jan 27 to sometime before his apperance again in A Winter's Day, Gryphon suffered a loss of memory similar to Noriko's in DOT: A Time to die. During that time he operated as Bruce Wayne/Batman. What is unclear is exactly how long this period lasted, and if he continued to do so after his memories restored themselves; There are, after all, basicly 9 years unaccounted for here.

Sometime after this (Possibly about 2345 is my guess, Don't ask me why) Kane's World sufferes the events described in the back-story of Big O... While not proven, given Gryphon's tendencies I'd suspect that he had more than a little to do with the creation of Big O before he left. (That and the "Cast in the name of God, ye not guilty" just seems so right for Gryphs emotional state during the exile)

However, All we can PROVE is that Gryph DID operate as Batman for an indeterminate about of time starting in 2336, ending before 25 Dec 2344.

Which is why I engaged in a bit of CYA, pointing out that all we DO know, or rather infer, is that Gryph operated as Bruce Wayne/Batman for an uncertain amount of time between 2336 and 2344.

Actually, Vision almost reminds me of Athena from certain of Heinlein's books... she's working not because she has to, but because she has nothing better to do since AI's dont really do celebrations well.. no arms to unwrap presents, etc. Speaking of Heinlein, though, recalling that same grouping of books, if ANY of the AI's we've seen would eventually desire to make the jump from electrons to neurons, Vision would be the most likly choice, and the one most likely to succeed at it... IMO, of course.

If I remember the story of how Vision came about, and certain references to where her "code" is, her access capability, and the implied sense of humor...

Vision would be more likely to have a Doll body built, and scare the "beejeesus" out of Gryphon when she decides he needs a good shock.

You've an interesting definition of the verb "to scare".
