I'm curious (and I don't think this qualifies as spoilers, but then that's not my call) - since they've all apparently retired from the WDF and/or their earlier-in-Future Imperfect work, at the time of SoS just what do the folks Mia called the "elder Wedge Defenders" do for a living?

(Cf: Christmas Rose) Martin is a senior detective in the Criminal Investigations Division, New Avalon PD (Cf: Hammer Time III, Christmas Rose), while Eiko is an elementary level schoolteacher in the New Avalon school system (Cf: Wapiko Loves Gamera).

The REDNECK retired from command of the CFMF shortly after the birth of his daughter Wapiko (Cf: Wilderness Part Seven), and is currently a roving test pilot, having worked on the Dodonna-Blissex 'A-Wing' project (cf: Wilderness), the Cygnus/Bell X-1 Jaeger project (Cf: Wapiko Loves Gamera), and others. He is also considering a standing offer for the post of senior fixed-configuration craft instructor at the WDF/GENOM joint advanced tactical fighter school.

WASHUU is co-head of the New Avalon Institute of the Sciences' department of Science!.
