"The Doctor question"

Does UF-verse The Doctor believe in magic/acknowledge the existence of a force that most humans would classify as "magic"? I need to know for reasons that are *completely* unrelated to imagining my RP characters wind up in the UF-verse.

Because I certainly don't do that ever.

So far as I'm aware, the Doctor's stance on magic has already been covered in the show's canon (Series 3, ep 2 -- The Shakespeare Code). It's the latter; Carrionite magic is simply (well, to a Time Lord) science that uses words instead of numbers. One could conceivably extend the definition to the forms of magic seen in UF canon.

The Doctor believes - somewhat doggedly, in the face of what the UF universe occasionally throws at him - in Clarke's Third Law: "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." The hard part for him has been accepting that there are technologies so sufficiently advanced that they're even indistinguishable from magic to a Time Lord.

N.B. The Doctor has never been to Cephiro. A Ptolemaic pocket universe might just be more than he can handle. He'd keep looking around for the struts that hold up the sky. :)
