"It sure is getting crowded in there..."

First of all, it's almost becoming a ritual for me to reload the forum, check out new posts, open a thread to suddenly realize that it's about new content (since I hardly ever check the 'What's New' page anymore out of laziness). Of course it takes me a few lines into the post to go 'Oh shit', at which point I have to ^Z any thoughts I was giving to what I was reading and bail out of the Lab and Grill. Not that any of this really bothers me, but I find it funny that I've done it...5 times now without fail. :)

Now then...

"what's going on?" Kaitlyn inquired sleepily. Despite her unfocused, barely opened eyes, she seemed to notice Juri; her face took on a faint, dreamy smile and she said, "aw, that's sweet... you brought me a redhead. good night... " Then she lay down again, curled up, and went back to sleep, if she can be said to have been awake in the first place.

<snarf> This, without a doubt, marks the first time where it's 100% crystal clear that this is, indeed, Gryphon's daughter. Never mind the quip (which is surprisingly on-topic, once you stop to think about it), no one in the UF multiverse other than a genuine Hutchins sleeps with that much panache. <grin>

It was also a nice touch to finally see Kaitlyn flustered by someone in a nice way. After two (albeit pleasant) movements of Utena and Corwin manuvering around each other--and their dueling blushes (aack, pun)--it tickled me to no end to see Kate attempt to deal with Juri. I look forward to the next respite from the chaos to see how that plays out. Were I not somewhat envious, I might fear for Miki, though. Heh.

Anyway, that's all I have after a first slightly rushed reading at work. This is working out to be a winner of a series. Great, great stuff. May the muse stay with you on this one for a while. :)

Hee... the fun part is, Kate isn't going to remember saying that at all... :)

If nothing else, it ought to stop people wondering whether she's into girls.

(There's actually a rather complex answer to that, which I think I went into a little bit on one of the Wounded Rose discussions, but still - the basic doubt ought to be dealt with now... :)

Oh, don't fear for him. I know his future already, and it is a bright and shining thing. :)

Thanks - I hope so...
