"Today is the day, as the spam used to say."

   Attention all hands:

WALL-E is out on DVD and BRD today. If you haven't seen the finest animated film (and quite possibly the finest film period) of 2008 yet, well, this is the time.

That is all.

I got it this morning on BRD while out with my daughter. As soon as I got home I popped it into the old PS3 and didn't blink until I was finished watching the movie/special feature clips (BURN-E and the magician one whose name escapes me).

My kids and I saw WALL-E in the theatre when they were here for the summer, and my daughter about fell out of her chair laughing at the magician bit.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-21-11 AT 02:35 PM (EST)

Picked up WALL-E yesterday. Very good film. I still need to watch the extras, but the movie itself was quite good.

I'm quite amused at Eve's hair trigger.

Well, you know what they say: When the only tool you have is a Quasar-class ion cannon...

I'm rediscovering all over again how I love Eve's various mannerisms. Her 101 different ways of saying Wall-E's name, for instance (I'm especially fond of the ones with the obvious unspoken preface, "Goddammit!"), and her expression upon having her faceplate squeegeed in the Repair Ward.

I liked how she giggled when the cockroach went underneath her head.

(I also admired the workmanship of the film as I watched the light go around the inside of "Eve's neck."

It's still not out down here for another two weeks. God, they make us wait about three months for it in Cinemas, and now this...

Amazingly enough, there's a theater in the Boston area (Capitol Theatre in Arlington, on Mass Ave.) that still has it showing on the big (well, small for a cinema, but still bigger than anything you'll find at home) screen. We saw it on Monday, and I agree that it's fantastic. I already want to see it again on DVD...
