"Trivia nugget #2"

Q. Why, when we first met him, was Anakin Skywalker (not to be confused with Anakyn "Skywalker" shar Atrados) working as a cabbie? A. That's an inside joke with the gang in the EPU studio. You know that scene in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones where Anakin jacks some senator's airspeeder and he and Obi-Wan chase down the shapeshifting assassin chick with it? That is totally somebody at Lucasfilm's session of Crazy Taxi translated to the Star Wars universe. "Go ahead and pick a car and driver! - Anakin!" "I have you now." "OK, Anakin - let's go make some crrrrrazy money!" I mean, the speeder he swipes is taxicab yellow. There's the Crazy Stunt moment where they go through the power couplings (you can all but hear the Crazy Money meter going ka-ching!). There's even a moment where someone jumps out after an expression of disgust in the driver's skill, although to be really Crazy Taxi compliant, it really should've been Obi-Wan who jumped out. ("You suck! Look at the time!") That's been rattling around the EPU collective consciousness since Episode II came out - so when it came time to bring Anakin the Younger, as it were, into the fold, I really had no choice but to open with a Crazy Cab Ride of my own. I doubt it'll be the last time you see the Samurai Kid rockin' the car chase action, either. :) --G. -><- Benjamin D. If it gets him and his Master out of Black Rose Hell in time to be teased by Juniper, I guess the Choosen One (a lot of that going around here, y'noticed?) will just need to put up with that moniker. So much better than "The Hero without Fear". t. paying attention to detail.

>who is resisting the urge to Photoshop such a picture What, of Anakin and the yellow speeder in a Crazy Taxi player-select screen? Why do people always resist the good urges? --G. -><- Benjamin D. I couldn't find a good line-drawing of the speeder, so I left the taxi. Enjoy!
