"Just completed WL"

So, my latest stop in the EPU vaults was Warrior Legacy.

Now for me, this was a very interesting re-read because I am not up all that much on the Street Fighter Universe, so most of my impressions of the characters are straight from this work.

Now I've watched some of the anime and live action film or two (one w/o Van Damme and the one with that I try to forget), so they blend nicely which is a really good thing.

So for me, this was just a nice fun read. Nice work on switching view point.
This one seems more fan fictionish than most of EPU which strikes me more as an whole Universes. But that is not a bad thing by any stretch.

But it was a fun read and I will now long for Battle 8, but not expect one.

Thanks!
Phantom

WL is a serious guilty pleasure of mine. The stories are seriously over the top. The personalities are larger than even many mainline UF repeating characters. And I adore the settings.

For me, WL reads like Simon Green's Nightside books. It isn't career-making literature, but it is GOOD.

Not only do I play Street Fighter still, I used to run the (bad) Street Fighter tabletop way back in the day. So I'm pretty up on the lore...though to be honest, the lore is not fantastic on its own and WL is at least one hell of a lot better, if not more. I wasn't familiar with Decapre before this story (she's from the comics, apparently, and I'm not big on comic books), but I was inordinately amused with the inclusion of Sakura's friends from Rival Schools. Hadn't played that game in a long, long time.

Mechanics: not in love with them.
Background: Beautiful. I have a copy of the book just for that.

And at least, "We have to save the world, but we're whupping up on each other instead of the bad guys" makes sense in the Street Fighter universe.
