I'm very excited for Civ 7. I think I mentioned it briefly before, but something I was involved in from a backend perspective was a mod for Civ 5 that got featured in Australian Kotaku. It's probably the closest thing I've got to a claim to fame. So yeah... pretty hype for the new instalment. --- "She's old, she's lame, she's barren too, // "She's not worth feed or hay, // "But I'll give her this," - he blew smoke at me - // "She was something in her day." -- Garnet Rogers, Small Victory FiMFiction.net: we might accept blatant porn involving the cast of My Little Pony but as God is my witness we have standards. due to the unique way in which the traitor is funded, i am obliged to point out that other civ 5 mods are available |

I spent many hours back in the Elder Days playing or, more often, watching other gweeps play the original Civ for PC (and Amiga, I think). Silly shit happened pretty routinely in that game; I remember a bunch of Settlers sinking one of Andrew Petrarca's battleships once, because those units had a defense rating and the game made no allowance for "well, technically yes, but this is clearly hopeless" and just made a dice roll for such interactions. I also remember Andrew playing a game once in which he never moved off the original primitive governmental model, so in the 22nd century he was still operating a straight-up despotic monarchy. "Aw, are you folks unhappy? Why don't you take that up with MY LEGIONS." --G. nuclear war was pretty happenin' in that straight top-down view, too. the sound effect was great. city go BLAMMO -><- Benjamin D.
