"OWaW 13 and a note on 14"
|
Episode 13 is up now, with apologies for the delay. After episode 14, which Grodd willin' and the crick don't rise will be along at something like the normal time, Our Witches at War will take a brief hiatus so that we may devote our full attention to another project. Please note that in this instance, "brief" is not meant ironically; the hope is to have the other thing done in time to go out before the University of Maine's commencement ceremony, which is on May 9. --G. -><- Benjamin D. The plot, it thickens yet again... I think for me, one of the most engaging aspects of the OWaW series has been the introduction of the UF-verse witches. Of course, I'm loving the handling of the original cast just as much, but the newly-introduced witches adds a breadth to the world that in hindsight is lacking from the show itself. I recognize that, as was mentioned in the original threads regarding Strike Witches, these are 12-ep series, and there's little enough room to work with as large a cast as the show actually has; but I definitely get a stronger feeling of a "world at war with the Neuroi" here. -Droken "If at first you don't succeed, bull- riding is not for you." |

(Hmm, did people think there wasn't going to be one at all this week?) >I'm not quite sure what to think of the whole force side of things, >but I understand it's kind of an 'oldschool' Eyrie thing. I can't >argue with the results, but I'm still interested to see how the >explanations pan out. I'm not entirely sure I follow. Explanations of what? --G. -><- Benjamin D. Thinking about Trude's difficulties with getting it, I just came up with an interesting, and probably wrong, explanation. Her magic interferes with her seeing the Force, in an effect that is analogous to city light interfering with stargazing. It isn't impossible to touch the Force while her magic is still active, it just takes more time to sort out what's her, and what's outside. Peter Eng -- Insert humorous comment here. |
