I agree with both your points. The random jumping (and, let's be honest, some of the "rhyming" was aweful) was a bit jarring, but I still give them props for putting together a solid list of events. All that said, there's something about their musical style in this song that is just jarring to my nerves - I can get into screeching guitar and so forth just fine, but I think there's just a little too much (intentional) feedback for me to take. I haven't listened to them before (that I can remember, at least) so I don't know if that's typical of their music or not, but if it is then I'll probably stay away from it. *shrug*
