[ CORRECTION: It is in fact an Amazon Prime "TV" series, not a movie. I guess I should have figured that from the fact that the trailers are on a YouTube channel called "Sony Pictures Television". Oopsies. ]Although for reasons I'm not privy to, the title is simply Spider-Noir, no -Man. According to the tail end of the trailer, it's going to be released in black-and-white and "True-Hue", which appears to be a color treatment tweaked to look like vintage Technicolor.
When Nic Cage voiced Spider-Man Noir in Into the Spider-Verse, I have to admit I didn't have him playing a live-action version of the character on my bingo card, but hey, we already know he can do the voice. :)
The original Spider-Man Noir comic was pretty brutal and not at all funny, as befits something based on hard-boiled detective films noir if it's being played straight. It's hard to tell from a two-minute trailer, but it looks like they were shooting for sort of a middle ground between that and the full-on comic treatment the character got in Spider-Verse with the live-action version. If so, I'm up for that.
