Saw this on Facebook and did some digging. Apparently Korra bites it staving off a huge cataclysm that reshapes the world into a new form. Next avatar is an Earthbender with a prosthetic leg, one of two twins.

   I'm waiting for people to complain about there being a disabled bender as though Toph wasn't the best character of the original show.

I'm not suggesting that dude was better than Toph, just that he's another example of a disabled bender in the OG series
