"Iron Pooh"

"Have you ever noticed that Iron Man and Winnie the Pooh both kinda rock the same outfit?"

Cheers,
-- John

Oh bother, I seem to have crushed the honey pot with my repulsors...

   Heh! That reminds me...

I threw this together last year as a joke on my LJ, but it sank without a trace. Maybe it'll play better here.

The Enterprise shore party beamed into a small clearing in an area that was otherwise sparsely wooded. Above them, the weirdly technicolor sky wheeled at a pace that seemed unnatural to eyes that evolved under Earth's sedately turning stars. An alien city could be seen on the distant horizon, lights gleaming softly, showing no other signs of life.

Kirk turned to Spock, who raised his tricorder and consulted its readout. "The anomalous energy source is definitely in this vicinity, Captain," he reported, "but at ground level there is severe interference. I cannot be more specific with these instruments."

The captain nodded grimly. "Then we'll have to narrow our search the old-fashioned way." Turning to the two security officers, he said, "Secure the area." He gestured to a massive boulder that stood just on the edge of the clearing. "Sanders, check behind that rock."

"Bother," said Pooh.

If they are lucky the monster is made of a "curious honey-like substance"...

"All clear" he said as he tried to hide his sticky paws.

I don't know whether to cry heresy or fall out of my chair laughing. Probably both, although at least this is the Disney version of Pooh and not the original (which is what I managed to grow up with first). Well done Gryphon, well done...

Of course it is. The original version doesn't wear a shirt.
