Over in a thread on Games, we got off on a tangent about the original Transformers TV show, in which I noted that my favorite joke in it was when Brawn ran through a door, but I couldn't remember what episode it was from.Philip said:

Haha, there it is. Outstanding.
My other favorite joke from G1 that I can think of right now is from the otherwise forgettable season 3 episode "Fight or Flee", in which the Predacons build something called a "molecular cannon", which happens to make the exact same sound effect as Megatron's fusion cannon from seasons 1 and 2, but anyway. The first time they use it, Bruticus (who for some reason is hanging around combined for this entire episode, despite the fact that Brawl is over there helping to build the molecular cannon, but, again, anyway) remarks dryly to Galvatron, "Not a very subtle weapon, is it?"
Dude, when Bruticus throws shade on your weapon for its lack of subtlety...
(Although Galvatron does have a point when he replies, "Somehow I think subtlety would be lost on the Predacons.")
Galvatron and Bruticus are a sitcom odd couple throughout this episode, really.
G: What do we have here?
B: I believe it is an Autobot invasion party. (NOTE: The animators drew both Bruticus and Galvatron speaking this line. Season 3 had some real QC issues. :)
G (annoyed): I know what it is!
B (confused): Didn't you just ask me what we had here?
G: It was just a figure of speech!
This episode also contains Ultra Magnus's immortal line, "I've never seen anything so beautiful in the entire galaxy. All right, give me the bomb," but context suggests that wasn't intended to be funny, so I'll give it a pass. :)
