Side note: In the '80s, when he was editor-in-chief at Marvel and I was a teenage Marvel Zombie, I wrote Shooter a letter in which I asked about his motivation for killing off Ferro Lad when he was writing Legion of Super-Heroes. He wrote back saying something to the effect of, "It seemed like a good idea at the time."
