"The Orville *SPOILER FREE PLEASE*"
|
Did anybody else watch The Orville tonight, and if so, what did you think of it? I rather liked it. It was nice to see a new SciFi show that didn't have the whole "Humans are bastards and deserve all the crap that happens to them" vibe that modern shows go all ga-ga over. Somebody posted on Facebook that his wife described it as "h, it's like TNG without everyone having a rod up their a$$."A pretty apt description, I think. Comments? Michael C. Fortner "Maxim 37: There is no such thing as "overkill". There is only "open fire" and "I need to reload". |

My wife and I watched it earlier this week. It has potential, somethings didn't work that DO work well in his animated series (like the window washer/repair interruption). My wife and I agree, that most of the negative reviews seem to be because people didn't get it. That they were expecting the absurdity of the Family Guy and American Dad, but in live action. That is not Orville. The special effects were well done, better than some movies in my wife's opinion. But since it is FOX, don't expect more than 10 episodes. Phantom "When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." - Sherlock Holmes |
