"Hey, you know..."
|
LAST EDITED ON 05-06-03 AT 08:19 PM (EDT) I just realized, and I'm kind of embarrassed I didn't think of it before... I said in the intro to EPDTMU that it would be the only story I release in the Marvel Universe... but thinking about it, I just realized that that may not necessarily have to be true.See, I made that statement because of the reasons stated immediately above it - the impossibility of trying to keep a comic fic current, especially when you don't have the budget or the inclination to follow the series that are being covered anyway. But I only just realized that, having capped the universe's timeline like that, I've got an anchor point that I could, if I felt like it, work backward from. I've established the setting and the don't-correlate-this-too-closely-to-the-comics ground rules sufficiently with Destroys that I could probably get away with going back and showing earlier adventures of Don, Kitty, and company if I had ideas for them - either from the Excalibur period with Ray, or even all the way back to his days as an X-Man (although those would be kind of weird to do, since Don Griffin was in those days probably the only Time Lord ever to harbor a hopeless high school crush :). Dropping tidbits about some of their earlier adventures in the discussion threads about Destroys made me think of that... I'm not saying I have any such project in the works right now, because I don't, but if one were to come along, I figure I could probably work it out. (If anybody's interested, anyway. It's not like the world really needs more X-Men fanfic. :) --G. -><- Benjamin D. Hutchins, Co-Founder, Editor in Chief, Netadmin Eyrie Productions, Unlimited http://www.eyrie-productions.com/

>(If anybody's interested, anyway. It's not like the world really >needs more X-Men fanfic. :) Well, I, for one, would not be adverse to seeing a bit more of the true origins of the Griffin powersuit. Given how unequivocally I fail to give a flying fuck about American superhero comics in general, this is a pretty firm statement of interest. Or a compliment to your skills, if you prefer it that way. ^_^ Blessed be. -n |

Oh, hey, that's a good one, too. The first appearance of the decent GRF suit (the original was a pile of crap built on a really limited budget out of odds and ends, including more than a few boosted Blackbird parts) was a hell of a run. If I can remember enough of the details (it was circa 1989, after all) and make up the rest, maybe I'll do that one... --G. -><- Benjamin D. It sounds like exactly the sort of cross-universe fusion that you excel (no, not you, Excel, get back in your window) at.

LAST EDITED ON 05-06-03 AT 10:49 PM (EDT) It'd probably be the best source of, what I'd think of as, decently written Kitty Pryde scenes online, so I'd enjoy seeing it. Not to mention, I'd like to see how you write the TARDIS and Doom. :)At the risk of nit-picking or breaking rule #1, would there be any chance of us seeing HL Gryphon's discussions with Don? Probably not, if only because they probably weren't really all that interesting to an outside observer. They just talked about tech stuff, and how boss being a power-armor hero is, and what sort of chances that year's Red Sox had, and so forth. --G. -><- Benjamin D. It's your universe now. They've got quite a bit of backstory that might be worth seeing. That's the opinion of a fan anyway. Besides, I want to see what happened when Don and Rachael started dating (I just want to see Scotts face turn that special shade of red and purple :) Matrix Dragon, J. Random Nutter My LiveJournal |

>I want to see what >happened when Don and Rachael started dating (I just want to see >Scotts face turn that special shade of red and purple :) Hmmm... I don't think Scott knew who she was when that happened. Unfortunately, it was long enough ago that I don't remember for certain. That'd be the case for a lot of details, so I'd basically be making it up over again and embellishing it all with whatever details I can recall from the first time around. :) --G. -><- Benjamin D. Hutchins, Co-Founder, Editor in Chief, Netadmin >Eyrie Productions, Unlimited http://www.eyrie-productions.com/ Most of the fanfic I read is anime based, so I can't say whether or not more X-Men fics are needed, but I can say that good fanfic is always appreciated. And I've yet to read anything from EPU I didn't enjoy. Besides, I'd love to see/read how Don and Vic became friends. 8) Plus I bet that invisibility coat of his must have made for some great pranks when Ol'one-eye came back. 8) Norgarth I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it! |
