"Old Interviews."

Reading Zoners lj, he mentioned an interview with him several years back. I decided it was worth reading. At the bottom, there was a link to a higher level page, here, that has interviews with several members of Eyrie. They're a little old (Zoners referred to working on NXE:AN, so..)

A peculiar experience, that, and not an entirely positive one. I've heard tell that the interviewer has since described us rather archly as "the interview that killed the Spotlight," or words to that effect. I find that a bit rich, if true, since it's not like we sought her out. I seem to recall even warning her in advance that we were a biggish group and might prove unwieldy to process. I got the impression during the interview process itself that she didn't like a lot of our answers, too.

Which was only fair, since I wasn't too enamored of a lot of the questions, especially in the second and subsequent rounds. There was a lot of the same sort of effect that frustrates me so about these forums from time to time - that inexplicable eager focus on the trivial or irrelevant while the interesting things slide by, apparently unnoticed, certainly unexplored.

It was worth reading, I guess, but the history of Eyrie (somewhere on this site) is much more interesting. Although the link to the whole ChickenBall thing is a 404, you can find it readily enough.

Hrm, yet another example why I wandered away from usenet posting. (There are a few groups that require lurking. Esp. since I don't know how to/don't care to mangle my headers to post. That and I'd be eaten alive.) Thanks for the reminder, Gryphon.
