LAST EDITED ON Jun-15-17 AT 10:54 AM (EDT) Well, keep in mind he was filming for The Grand Tour, not just messing around for his own amusement. The production has insurance, and I would guess lots of it, for precisely such developments.--G. -><- Benjamin D. Oh, I don't doubt it...but at the same time, I don't think Amazon REALLY considered that they'd be liable to replace a probably VERY fucking expensive car among the first things they did. I mean, the Beeb did that with the Koenigsegg that ate the wall of tires, but, well, it's the Beeb, it's a very high-income show, and it was well into the run of the show. ...! I think they can spare an expensive car. -- -Pasha "Don't change the subject" "Too slow, already did." |

>The question, I think, isn't whether or not AMAZON can afford it, but >if the SHOW can. One may run the other, but they *are* still distinct >things. The show gets a budget. If they go over that budget, the >parent company is likely to start looking a mite closer at the bottom >line. Wilman's been doing this for a long time. I'm willing to assume he runs a production wherein these matters are taken into account in the planning stages. Hence all those "the unique way the BBC is funded" jokes back in the Top Gear days... --G. -><- Benjamin D.
