"song, etc., you know the drill by now"
|
Somewhere in a lonely hotel room there's a guy starting to realize that eternal fate has turned its back on him. It's 2 AM. It's 2 AM The fear is gone I'm sitting here waiting The gun's still warm Thinking my connection is tired of taking chances Yeah there's a storm on the loose Sirens in my head Wrapped up in silence All circuits are dead Cannot decode My whole life spins into a frenzy Help, I'm stepping into the Twilight Zone Place is a madhouse Feels like being cloned My beacon's been moved under moon and star Where am I to go now that I've gone too far? Help, I'm stepping into the Twilight Zone Place is a madhouse Feels like being cloned My beacon's been moved under moon and star Where am I to go now that I've gone too far? Soon you will come to know When the bullet hits the bone Soon you will come to know When the bullet hits the bone I'm falling down a spiral Destination unknown Double-crossed messenger all alone Can't get no connection Can't get through, where are you? Well the night weighs heavy on his guilty mind This far from the borderline When the hit man comes He knows damn well he has been cheated And he says Help, I'm stepping into the Twilight Zone Place is a madhouse Feels like being cloned My beacon's been moved under moon and star Where am I to go now that I've gone too far? Help, I'm stepping into the Twilight Zone Place is a madhouse Feels like being cloned My beacon's been moved under moon and star Where am I to go now that I've gone too far? Soon you will come to know When the bullet hits the bone Soon you will come to know When the bullet hits the bone - Golden Earring "Twilight Zone" Cut (1982) |

Always loved this song--just put it on, of course--but I can't help but wonder who in WL would merit being the subject of such a song. Zoner, maybe, but I can't see him doing wetwork. (Actually, I'm really impressed with how you've captured the colorful, larger-than-life, Exalted-lite flavor of the SFRPG while excising the unspeakable cheesiness. Yeah, it's a bit wacky in places (and I think Sakura could've taken those punks), but there's a razor's edge, a fine line between the two that you've tread far better than big-time comics ever were able to. I'm not sure it's actually come up, now that I think about it, but Cammy's SIS service number is zero zero five. --G. -><- Benjamin D. I'm sure that's some kind of sacrilege, but it goes to show how much movie-watching I do. I admit I didn't think of her as -that- kind of agent, but shit, (assuming she was one of Bison's dolls like in Street Fighter Alpha and the anime), that's assuredly where her original training would have gone. >Aha. Would you believe I've never seen a single Bond movie? Yeah, I'd buy that. Admittedly, having the 00 clearance ("licensed to kill", as they call it in the trade) isn't the same thing as automatically receiving full-sanction missions all the time? But she's probably had to kill someone at some point to get a job done. --G. -><- Benjamin D. Makes sense. ...I really need to quit rereading SotS for the eight hundredth time and go back and read this again. >But she's probably had to kill someone at some point to get a job >done. >At least twice, actually, or she wouldn't be classified as a Double-0. That, in itself, takes two diffrent assignments ending in a dead target. Actually pops up in the trailer for the new Casino Royale. 'Your file shows no kills, but to become a Double-0, it takes...' 'Two.' About the only thing they have from the original story, as it seems, but at least they have SOMETHING 'right' so to speak. /Mooneyes "Hi, this is Jean. If the world is ending, I don't want to hear about it. If you've discovered the third Summers brother, I REALLY don't want to hear it. And if one of our other teams has got themselves into trouble again, it's their own damn fault and they can just think about that until tomorrow. Still there?" "Make It Okay", by Diamonde |
