"Klattu Barada N....artufuch!"

... Okay, so maybe I didn't say every single tiny syllable! But basically I said it!

Hrm, I think that's enough of the Army of Darkness quotations already.

An introduction, such as one is. Hrrrrrrm. Very well:

My real name is Robert Collins, and I'm a second year Intelligent Systems (HAH! Riiiiiight.) student at the University of Staffordshire in (duh!) Staffordshire, England. Really I'm actually in it for the study of computer science in general, but I couldn't decide on the actual course to take, and it was that or Software Engineering, and I may like programming, but I don't /really/ want to be a coder that much.

As a total sidenote, my mothers current abode (and thus my real hometown so to speak) is right near the UK version of Shrewsbury, and not entirely far from the 'real' (well, okay, the first I should imagine) Worcester.

But questions, questions... Like maybe why the nickname? It comes from an Iain M Banks book, Consider Phlebas, which I strongly recommend to /anyone/. One of the characters in it, indeed the 'hero' (if you want to call him such) is named Horza Bora. One day when I was mushing, and was offered an admin slot I needed a nickname. My other internet name is 'Gladius Dei' (Sword of God, for those unskilled in latin. I was young and playing Quake too much when I choose it).

I'm very much into Eyrie stuff, although on the whole not into fanfic in general. I do read some, but it's a lot of work to find the good stuff, when I can just come here and read what is easily among the best. I do write my own on occasion, but mostly I write original stories, and I'm only really beginning to figure out how the muse works (in fits and starts), and up till recently kept trying to force her out all in one sitting, which didn't work.

I'm a big, big roleplayer with a large collection of books. Being a student (and the Treasurer of Myth, Staffords Roleplaying Society) I roleplay five nights a week, running one currently with another to come, and playing in another five. I'm also a wargamer and a sci-fi fan. Which all in all makes me a fairly typical Eyrie fan, and roleplayer.

I was introduced to Eyrie through R-Type (not that he knows it), a guy named Ed-Win Fischer once wrote /excellent/ X-Com fic, and back when I was into X-com in a big way I stumbled across his web page, then across Larrys X-com fic. Eventually I found my way to NXE after Larry stopped his new X-com story, at first I thought that was totally weird, but I read it. Then I looked at UF. That was far too weird, but one bored day I read it...

...And thus the story goes, I've been coming back ever since. It was Eyrie that introduced me to anime and PWEI (Thanks guys! They're among my most sought after albums now. It's hard to get PWEI stuff in the UK, even though they're from here), espically the anime, after I relised that I had /seen/ Robotech as a child visiting my Aunt in Portland (Oregon).

Not a lot else to say, only that I share Gryphon's fictional daughters fascination with tigers. Siberian tigers at that. I want a neo-Tiger. It wouldn't fit in my room... But ooooooooh.

Anyways. That's all for now folks.

"Ajax: We have to save Dod from his raging Eggo.
Mambo: Ajax, I think you mean ego.
Ajax: Oh. Once again I have confused Dod's psychee with a toasted breakfast food. Although the image of being attacked by a bloodthirsty waffle remains a favorite in the playground of my mind."
