A very interesting post. I like Dresden Codak, and seeing his take on the (abominable) New 52 idea is a happy start to my day. In related news, I've recently found out that DC Nation's commissioned some shorts to be done for 2011/12-ish. One of them is a Lauren Faust project called Super Best Friends Forever, focussing on Batgirl, Supergirl and Wondergirl (and dear God, that woman needs to get someone else writing her titles). The other is a series of Batman shorts... done by Aardman. Yes, the Wallace and Gromit guys. Much excite. --- "Yeah, I'm definitely going to hell/But I'll have all the best stories to tell" -- Frank Turner, The Ballad of Me and My Friends "Oooh, cracking toast, Robin!" |

Well, you say that, but people were equally quick to dismiss Friendship is Magic as a torrent of pink dreck on the basis of the title alone, and look how well that turned out. Let's not be hasty, and let's hope that DC've learned from Hasbro's decidedly hands-off approach when it comes to letting Faust work. I mean, this is a woman who basically drew my childhood, why don't we all just see what there is to offer and make judgements once we've seen the shorts in question? Besides, if you don't like it, it's seven minutes you didn't like. I'm certain you'll cope. --- "Yeah, I'm definitely going to hell/But I'll have all the best stories to tell" -- Frank Turner, The Ballad of Me and My Friends |
