Indeed, the LSD was one of the first departments of the WDF to be refounded, after Central Command and UPNS. They were instrumental in tuning the biosphere of the pseudocontinent and adapting many of the flora and fauna to be found in Avalon County. For instance, they were responsible for Danny, the Lake Daniels monster.
