Well, sure. She has something of a habit of doing that. Viz. her little rant about "pull to open" in "The Doctor's Wife" when that clearly applies only to the little door the phone is inside of. :)

Besides, I'm reluctant to believe that The Noise is operator error, both because one would prefer to think the Doctor hasn't spent his entire career making a student-driver error and because, well, we saw several times in the old series (back when there was more than one TARDIS) that they all make that noise - most notably the Delgado Master's, and if there was ever a character you could count on not to be messing around...

That said, if Sylvia had listened carefully, she'd have noticed that the sound she heard was not quite the same as the one she remembers of old, because that's not the Doctor's TARDIS she's hearing - but under the circumstances, one can forgive her for the oversight. :)
