Her, Ray Charles, Cab Calloway, John Lee Hooker... They wanted to cut all of them, because the producers were saying they hadn't had hits in years. And then the movie revived the careers. It did okay in original release (having to compete with a little SF movie called "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back" may have messed things up a little), but hell, even the Vatican likes it. |
