   While the gun is, well, HUMONGOUSLY much bigger, both in terms of size, and in terms of round, I recommend the Forgotten Weapons video on the M82 Barrett .50cal AMR. It has closeups and explanations of the short-recoil rotating bolt, AND it happens to have a captive spring, too.
Because if you think an ORDINARY spring launching things, and itself, is a pain...imagine what a spring fit for a .50 BMG round would be like. That's a round that is .804 at the widest, 5.45 inches long, and produces 13300-14900 foot/pounds, depending on variant.

Good for a larger view, with voice explanation. Of course, the Light Fifty isn't as cool as this gun, but that's another matter.
