"Immortal Wisdom"

This was said on an MST3K behind-the-scenes segment, possibly part of one of Comedy Central's Turkey Day marathons, long enough ago that a) it was on Comedy Central and b) Joel said it. It is one of the central principles of UF and one that I must constantly remind myself of - not, I admit, always successfully - as the years go by.

"We don't ask ourselves, 'Who will get this?' We tell ourselves, 'The right people will get this.'"
- Joel Hodgson

“They planned their campaigns just as you might make a splendid piece of harness. It looks very well; and answers very well; until it gets broken; and then you are done for. Now I made my campaigns of ropes. If anything went wrong, I tied a knot; and went on.”
-- Arthur Wellesley, First Duke of Wellington
