"Region 2 DVD Access?"

LAST EDITED ON 11-04-02 AT 05:52 PM (EST)

As the result of a friend's whim, I was at Mitsuwa in Edgewater NJ last night, and I impulse-bought what appears to be the latest Megumi Hayashibara CD. When I got it home and opened it, to my wondering eyes appears not just the CD but a supplementary DVD which holds what appears to be a 63-minute miniconcert (or maybe a collection of videos, I read no Japanese). Unfortunately, it's region-encoded, and I don't have a R2 player. Can anyone out there help me get a look at it? Thanks.

-- Bob
(Edited to correct the region code, but I still look stupid... <sigh>)

ITYM "R2". North America is Region 1...

I've hacked all my DVD drives and decks to play all regions. Of course, my player is in the back of my mother's van right now, but it'll only be there until I can muster the enthusiasm to carry it upstairs...

<sigh> That's what I get for relying on a sleepy memory. Bleh. Well, I corrected the original message, but I still look like a dunce.

Hm. Can you point me at a reference that will tell me how to do the same?

I'd have to muster the considerably greater enthusiasm to carry the DVD to Millinocket, however... <grin> Thanks the same.

Well, there is this thing called "the mail," but admittedly it has a slow turnaround time.

Thanks! I'll check that forthwith.

Well, as it turns out, Offsides can help, and he is more or less local to me. So neither alternative is necessary at this point. If, however, you are interested in the content yourself, let me know, and mailing or other arrangements can be accomplished.
