"Oh, the irony"
|
So, I've been doing duty officer stuff for a few weeks now with my Romulan Suran, captain of the D'Relikt (currently). Had a couple doffs end up in sickbay, but hell, they were on dangerous missions. But today, I had my first doff fatality. While putting on a production of Hamlet at my fleet starbase. Four other performers were injured and are in sickbay. Best as I can figure, some misguided soul (aka utter moron) must have provided genuine poison and edged blades for "maximum realism" in the final act. <sigh> -- Bob ------------------- My race is pacifist and does not believe in war. >But today, I had my first doff fatality. > >While putting on a production of Hamlet at my fleet starbase. > >Four other performers were injured and are in sickbay. That's pretty badass. Swede had someone fail to come back from an ambassadorial tour of the ship the other day. I can only assume that it was the Space Vampire ambassador and proper precautions were not taken. --G. -><- Benjamin D. Those things are about as OSHA-compliant as the Death Star. But on a Starfleet vessel, it has to be ambassadorial shenanigans. Ebony the Black Dragon "Life is like an anole. Sometimes it's green. >>Obuh, how the hell did you and T'Pral manage to get injured >>scanning for subspace anomalies?! Was there a fight? That somehow >>doesn't seem likely. >> > >"Well, the deflector dish failed to sweep the area properly, and the >standard fixes failed, so we went to EVA to check for foreign objects. > When we dislodged the metoroid that was interfering with proper >operation, it resumed scanning..." snrk. Mental image: Swede in her office (she doesn't call it a "ready room" any more than she calls a shore party an "away team" - too much goddam management-speak in Starfleet these days), puzzling over the report and muttering to herself. "'Cause of accident: fod'? What the f... - Andersson to sickbay. Konnit, is Specialist T'Pral conscious?" --G. -><- Benjamin D.
