   Galactipedia
440 Years of Getting It Wrong

The validity of this tagline is disputed. Galactipedia became operational on April 1, 2000 SC. As such, it has not existed for 440 years.

The writer of the previous objection's having gotten the point is disputed. If you think the erroneous year count is the main problem with that tagline, mate, you've completely lost the plot.

Oh, for - take it to the discussion page, gentlemen...

Rahne Sinclair bibliography

The bibliography of Rahne Sinclair currently includes 35 fiction novels and 2 non-fiction books published as of the date of this writing (June 9, 2440)[this is absurd] by the Scottish-Zetan author and musician Rahne Sinclair (b. August 10, 2390)[citation needed]. All of Sinclair's books have been published by Claremont Press, New Avalon/Hyperion City. She is best known for her science fiction/fantasy fusion series, the Valkyrie Adventures, which she also illustrates.

This bibliography does not include her work for Bacon Comics Group; for a listing of her graphic work for BCG, see Rahne Sinclair comics bibliography.

Published works by year of publication

  • I'll Try Anything Twice: The Profit-Motivated Sequel (2438)

Works of Non-Fiction

  • Canada: Myth or Menace? (2412)

  • Derek Bacon vs. the World Crime League (2430)

A special six-volume omnibus edition of the Valkyrie Adventures, containing every book in the series up to and including Fridr Blackshadow and the Penumbral Horrors, was published under the title Rahne Sinclair's Valkyrie Adventures: The 25th Anniversary Collection. This is the only book-bound edition of the Adventures to feature the short story "Young Skuld Wins With Science", which originally appeared as a text B-story in an issue of the Bacon Comics series The All-New Tales of the Lensmen in 2416.

The Espionage Trilogy was also collected as an omnibus edition in 2436, to coincide with the release of Espionage III in paperback and direct-RNA transfer.

Canada: Myth or Menace? holds the interesting[original research?] distinction of having been the last book banned as "seditious propaganda" in the Earth Alliance before the outbreak of the Earth-Zeta War.[whaaaat?]

Somebody's engaged in silly buggers, either with the timeline, or with Galactipedia.

Polychrome

It's about a 50/50 shot either way.

Heehee! What with the two new stories just released, I've been paying more attention to the site lately, and I found this rather amusing.

I had two questions, though. One is, where and how did Rahne get the detailed information on the Valkyrie necessary to write all these stories?

And second...well, considering the time-displaced nature of the article, I'm sure there's a good reason indeed there's a Valkyrie I don't recognize. I certainly know who I expect Anne Stonebreaker to be. =) I know better than to ask now how it happens, but will we see the story at some point in the future?

It's just a guess, but I'm fairly sure it involved mead at some point.

Also: roast stag. (Sounds like an instruction. "Step 2: Roast stag.")

Also, she made a lot of it up. That's kind of what she does for a living. :)

(Also also, one of the things that make the Valkyrie themselves fairly sure that this is, if not a genuine time-displaced article, then certainly a hoax perpetrated by someone who's in on the setup, is that Skjoldr Sunracer and the Treaty of Paris references an old Valkyrie in-joke.)

Actually, her name is Anna Stonebreaker, so I suspect you are incorrect and she hasn't actually got anything to do with anything we're already aware of; I just liked the sound of the name. :)

Oho! I didn't catch myself, obviously. I noticed that difference in the original article, but wasn't thinking about it when I wrote my reply. Yeah, I guess that doesn't work as well. =)

The validity of this tagline is disputed. Galactipedia

Huh, there goes my little pet theory that Galactipedia grew out of a certain Earthbound site of similar scope...

Anyway, just how many of these books are based on actual events I wonder?

Oh, one imagines there's a huuuuge flamewar on the discussion page about that. Did Galactipedia originate on Salusia in 2000 or Earth in 2001? The format of the 25th-century site - indeed, the whole Galactic Standard approach to the Worlds-Wide Web - owes much more to Earth's technology base than Salusia's, but it is a fact that the organization that operates Galactipedia started with a Salusian Datasphere site in 2000 and only absorbed the Earth site during the Standardization of the United Galactica seven years later, when the Datasphere became part of the Internet. Which is more about the history of information technology in the post-Contact era than anyone other than people who get into flamewars on Galactipedia discussion pages care about, but there it is. :)

There's probably a huge flamewar about that, as well, especially since somebody is probably wondering why the Atlas Killer of Task Force Titan and the IPO Chief Technologist haven't sued Ms. Sinclair for usage of their names and images.
