Himinoðurr Deep—Horizon Deep, also "Abyss" or "Trench". Deepest point in the Sea of Humiliation, lowest depth: unknown, but far deeper than any sea in the mortal world. Possibly bottomless.

a elaborate silver necklace—Warspite's necklace is actually made up of tiny anti-aircraft guns, as revealed in some detail drawings of her rigging released by the official artist.

His Majesty's battleship Warspite—Pennant number 03, second of the Queen Elizabeth-class battleships. Laid down in 1912 at H.M. Dockyard, Devonport, she fought (and was seriously damaged) in both World Wars. Scrapped in 1950, because history is expensive and postwar Britain was skint. Her Kantai Collection incarnation was the first (and as of this writing is the only) British vessel in the game; she's also in World of Warships, seeing as she's probably the most famous British warship of the twentieth century.

let's get paid—It's important to keep in mind that Captain Bjarik and his crew are not pirates; they're more like illegal big-game hunters. The "plunder" in Plundersea's name has to do with natural resources, not taking stuff off of other ships.

twenty-five inches—For reference, the largest naval rifles ever fitted to a real-world warship were the main guns of the Japanese battleships Yamato and Musashi, with a caliber of 18.1 inches. Reckless's main guns are far bigger than that, though still smaller than, say, World War II German railway guns (31.5 inches). She has a lot more of them than the German Army ever had, though.

his enemy's flight deck—In Kantai Collection, the Re-class is an aviation battleship (BBV), able to deploy potent striking aircraft in addition to her own firepower. I haven't played the game, but she is reputedly a real bitch, especially in her Elite form.

the Old Lady herself—HMS Warspite's nickname in World War II (often made more respectful/affectionate by prepending "Grand"). Derived from a signal sent by Admiral Sir Andrew Cunningham, whose flagship she then was, after a high-speed transit to Malta in 1943: OPERATION WELL CARRIED OUT. THERE IS NO QUESTION WHEN THE OLD LADY LIFTS HER SKIRTS SHE CAN RUN.

pennant number X204—The X indicates that in her first life, HMS Reckless was an experimental ship.

globus cruciger—An iconic object in the form of an orb with a cross on top, used in medieval Christian royal regalia to denote the divine right of kings (by association with Christ's dominion on Earth). The Sovereign's Orb, part of the crown jewels of Britain, is probably the most famous example. The joke in KanColle fandom is that Warspite's is really the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch (although closer inspection reveals that the "cross" on top is in fact her radar aerial).

she favored her left leg on landing—The historical Warspite took a bashing at the Battle of Jutland in 1916, including a shell hit to her portside aft quarter that permanently damaged her steering gear. Some KanColle fans believe that she is shown seated in her official game CG because of this injury (which could never be fully repaired IRL). Here we are taking the view that her left leg does work, but isn't quite right and is painful to ask much of. Reckless knows this (pretty much everybody in their circle, inasmuch as they can be said to share one, knows it); thus, for her to take this matter so seriously that she'll not only get up, but jump up to the (very high) deck like that, is enough to arrest Reckless's attention instantly.
