I think that the revised story, along with that explanation, is spot on. Gryphon was never one to play by the rules when the deck was pre-stacked against him (witness his life on the run, not to mention various other WDF operations of a more deniable nature), and playing by them before didn't fit. This time, he did what I'd expect him to - when someone else tries to change the rules, he changes them in a different way. That plus killing someone who hadn't earned it was out of character, and you fixed it nicely. I'm just surprised you let the old hag get off without a scratch, but I guess that was a combination of chivalry and expedience :) One question: when is this relative to Manhunt?
